The automaker has begun the production of its electric E-Transit Cargo van and deliveries will begin in coming weeks. The production is taking place at the factory in Kansas City, Missouri.
First revealed in 2020, the cargo van is configurable, all-electric and said to be key in Ford’s latest strategy in gaining market share in the cargo van market.
Ford also hinted that in September, almost 24,000 reservations had been made for the E-Transit. This announcement comes after Ford hinted that double production capacity has begun for its upcoming F-150 Lighting pickup truck and it has up to 150,000 in customers response.
The E-Transit is expected to go at a price of $43,295. The automaker believes that opportunities lie within electric vehicles as customers seek out vehicles that possess lower maintenance and energy costs and at the same time meet sustainability and emissions regulations.
