Instagram announced earlier today they were introducing a couple of features and will be available on both Instagram Reels and TikTok. These new additions will enable creators and users to collaborate, make good use of music and also raise funds.
The first they hinted about is a new tool/feature named Collabs. Though they described it as a test, this new feature allows a user to invite another user on a post or a video. When accepted, the recordings will be up to a minute and co-authored posts (and videos) will be shared with both parties’ followers.
They also announced another tool which is said to be released before the end of the week. Product Week will help creators and users’ level up their content and connect better with their audience.
Desktop users are not left out too as Instagram also hinted the new feature will let users post their clips via the desktop browser. This has been a long-requested feature and will be available on October 21.
Two extra additions, Superbeat and Dynamic Lyrics will be added to Instagram as it will enable creators who use music to edit and perform. Superbeat applies special effects to an artists’ song whilst, Dynamic Lyrics displays 3D lyrics that will accompany the song’s ‘groove.’ All these features will be available on Thursday, 21st of October.
